About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Eden Prairie, Hot Pot City invites diners to embark on an immersive and interactive culinary adventure centered around authentic hot pot dining. This vibrant hot pot restaurant masterfully blends the rich, bold flavors of Sichuan cuisine with fresh, high-quality ingredients, delivering an experience that delights both novices and seasoned hot pot enthusiasts alike.

At Hot Pot City, the star attraction is undoubtedly the customizable hot pot itself. Guests start by selecting two flavorful broths to simmer: the fiery, tongue-tingling Sichuan Spicy Soup Base and the savory, aromatic Chicken Black Garlic Soup Base are perennial favorites. Other options like the comforting Pork Bone and Tomatoes Broth offer a gentle contrast. Into these bubbling pots goes an exciting array of fresh ingredients, including succulent seafood like fish fillet, scallops, crawfish, squid, mussels, and blue crab, as well as an enticing variety of vegetables such as corn, lotus root, enoki mushrooms, and leafy greens like bok choy and broccoli.

Beyond the broths and seafood, Hot Pot City’s menu shines with diverse options that tease the palate. Delicate udon noodles, savory potstickers, crispy home fries, and intriguing additions like quail eggs and shrimp balls create a playful and satisfying progression with every bite. For those seeking a bit of sweetness, the shaved ice dessert is a refreshing finish, while the drink menu complements the meal beautifully—featuring sparkling sake, Japanese soda, and house specialties like the soula margarita, all affordably priced.

The dining atmosphere strikes a perfect balance of lively and welcoming. The restaurant exudes a modern, energetic vibe enhanced by innovative elements such as a delightful robot kitty that efficiently delivers orders, adding a touch of whimsy and surprise to the meal. Customers frequently praise the friendly and attentive staff, who ensure that each guest feels both informed and cared for — particularly helpful for hot pot first-timers, as many appreciate the thoughtful explanations about how to best navigate this communal cooking experience.

What truly sets Hot Pot City apart is the communal and social aspect of dining here. Diners often leave feeling energized and satisfied, with many eager to return to explore new menu items or to simply relish the convivial atmosphere again.

While some guests note the lively environment can be a bit loud during peak times, this energy is part of the exciting experience, making Hot Pot City a bustling hub of joyful food discovery. Reasonably priced drink selections and all-you-can-eat options complement the vibrant dining experience, ensuring that every visit is both indulgent and economical.

Super awesome!! Never had hot pot before, and asked to go here for my birthday. Everyone had a great time and the robot kitty guy even brought ice cream at the end!!! Our staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. I will be coming back with friends, family, and for dates. I would highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere fun to eat with a group!!!

This was my first hot pot experience in Minnesota. There was a good selection of items and the food was good! My only complaint was it was a bit loud in the restaurant. I think I will come back on a non weekend day because it is more expensive on the weekend. ($38) the drinks were so reasonably priced and the hot pot technology was the fanciest of any hot pot place I have been! There is a tray that lifts in the hot pot so you can get all the food out! Loved the sauce bar. The beef was good, but wasn’t a fan of the lamb. I will definitely be back on a non weekend!

I went to Hot Pot City a few days ago with my friend, and my experience was absolutely amazing—easily a 5/5! Here’s why: First off, the service was fantastic. The waiter who helped us was super friendly and answered all of our questions. Since it was our first time at a hot pot place, he took the time to explain how everything works. Next, the ingredients were extremely fresh, and once we cooked them, it tasted amazing—honestly some of the best seafood I’ve had in a long time. And I can’t forget about the cat waiter! It’s this adorable robot that delivers extra ingredients right to your table. It’s so cute and convenient—I was sooooo obsessed! I absolutely loved this place. It made me feel like I was back in Asia for a little bit :) Highly recommend it—can’t wait to go back!

What a cool experience! Make sure you are very hungry as it's all you can eat. You pick two broths and then order items from an a la carte menus. There is a lot to choose from so try a handful of items and then go with your favorites. Bonus is that there is a kitty robot who delivers all of your uncooked food so that you can drop it in the broths of your choice!

Had a good time! The soup was pretty good and there was a good selection of items to cook in the broth. I think the rice cakes and fried tofu were my favorite things I tried. We had the spicy pork and the mushroom pork broths. I am a bit disappointed that they don’t have rice. But it was still good. The tastiness does really depend on how good you are at making a sauce you will like from the mix your own sauce bar. I think mine was just ok, so that is my own fault. They do have sauce recipes to try so maybe I would try that next time. For the price I think it is more worth it if you are a meat eater. For that reason I might prefer other hot pot places I have been where you pay for the add ins separately. Glad we tried it! Husband got the pork, beef, meatballs, and sausages and liked it all. Server was very nice and attentive.

All you can eat for about $38 per person. You get a wide variety of options with meats, seafood, and other options. The service is good and the robots are fun. We went here when it first opened and then back yesterday...the atmosphere has not been kept up. We were sat next to three carts of dirty dishes. A scrub bucket and rags was on the ledge by our table; asked if it could be moved. The actual hot pot on the table had some corrosion on it. Etc. So, it's not as "nice" as it used to be...I'd probably only return because of location. There are far nicer hot pots in the city.

Made a trip to the Asia Mall to have some hot pot. Hot Pot City is a fabulous location. As you walk in you see lots of happy people and lots of cat robots delivering food to the tables. Honestly at I went to see the robots and ended up loving the place. Our server Kelly was amazing and she made some very good recommendations and gave us details on everything. The location is all-you-can-eat so come hungry they have a separate food bar and they have a good Asian beer menu and tea. The experience was fun and different if you have not done hot pot and it's well worth the cost. There is lots of parking at the Asia Mall and there are lots of things to do around the mall and great shopping. The experience was very memorable and I can't wait to go back and hope to get Kelly again.
